Recentred Africa is a Nairobi studio and research practice. We make stories, yes. We also ask who framed them, who benefits from them, who disappears inside them, and whether the person at the centre would recognise what we made.

I work there as Story Lead across participatory research, ethical narrative frameworks, photography, creative and editorial direction, and public-interest reporting. I name my contribution. I do not borrow everybody else’s.

Sometimes the work reaches policy. Recentred’s reporting on Kenya’s Films and Stage Plays Bill became a memorandum submitted to Parliament. A story is not decoration for the intervention. Sometimes it is how the intervention becomes possible.
