I'm Marcus Olang', a writer and photographer based in Nairobi, and Story Lead at Recentred Africa.

I grew up around books and wanted to know how marks on a page could make music in somebody else's head. I picked up a camera because light kept doing interesting things. Radio, strategy, and behaviour change work taught me that neither words nor pictures end where I leave them.

I've spent more than 17 years working professionally, fourteen years photographing, and a decade in behaviour change communication. I write the newsletter this man's mind, run Stills by Marcus, and work at Recentred Africa.
